Chris Jackson Dr. Jackson received his Ph.D. in Reliability Engineering from the University of Maryland’s Center of Risk and Reliability. He has supported many complex and material systems developed their reliability performance, and assisted in providing reliability management frameworks that support business outcomes. He has also led initiatives in complementary fields such as systems engineering and performance based management frameworks (PBMFs).

Jason Speyer Dr. Speyer performs research on stochastic and deterministic optimal control and estimation with application to aerospace systems; guidance, flight control, and flight mechanics. Some of his projects include fault detection and identification for ground vehicles, autonomous formation flight, and management of air vehicles systems.

Autonomous Systems and Public Planning - J.R. DeShazo, Ph.D.

J.R. DeShazo J.R. DeShazo is the Director of the Luskin Center for Innovation at the University of California at Los Angeles. In addition, he advises the Los Angeles City Council, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the Metropolitan Water District and the Los Angeles Planning Department, among key agencies. DeShazo's work also supports the California Air Resources Board and the Southern California Association in their effort to implement AB 32, the Global Warming Solutions Act, and its complementary SB 375, transportation and land use bill.

Autonomous Systems Theory - Paulo Tabuada, Ph.D.

Paulo Tabuada Paulo Tabuada's main research interests cover a range of topics which could be described as a modern systems theory. In particular, he is interested in modeling, analysis, and control of real-time, embedded, networked and distributed cyber-physical systems. Dr. Tabuada also directs the Cyber-Physical Systems Laboratory (CyPhyLab), which conducts research at the intersection of computation, communication, and control.

Researcher - Anjali Modi

Anjali Modi Anjali Modi is a fourth-year undergraduate at UCLA. She is studying Applied Mathematics and specializing in Computing. At the UCLA B. John Garrick Institute, she helps gather data on pipeline failure to construct a Bayesian Belief Network and then uses a combination of Hugin and MATLAB to analyze the conditional probabilities derived from the BBN.
